When this could help

A property is standing empty

A holiday home between visits, an authorised deceased estate during probate, a home awaiting sale or occupation, or a property whose owner is temporarily off-island.

A home needs a human presence

Someone may live in the property or make agreed visits to notice leaks, heating problems or storm damage, collect post, water plants, tend a garden or care for pets.

A room could solve two needs

A homeowner or authorised landlord may have a spare room, while another islander needs somewhere suitable. Both sides begin with broad preferences rather than public contact details.

Only moderated sitter and room-seeker summaries may appear below, with no surname, phone, email, exact address or precise away dates.
Never include alarm, key-safe, door or gate codes. Identity documents and references must be exchanged privately, not uploaded here.
Do not pay deposits, fees or expenses through this site. Meet safely, verify identity and references, and confirm insurance, authority, housing qualifications, landlord or lender permissions and written terms independently.
A deceased estate may be registered only by an executor, administrator or another person authorised to act.

Will an empty property appear publicly?

No. Property and room offers remain private. The site may publish only a manually shortened sitter or room-seeker profile when that person explicitly opts in.

Does registration mean someone has been vetted?

No. Moderation limits what is published; it is not identity, criminal-record, reference or suitability vetting. Both sides must perform their own checks before sharing an address or agreeing access.

Is house-sitting automatically a tenancy or employment?

No assumption is made either way. Payment, length of stay, duties and exclusive occupation can affect the legal position. Put the arrangement in writing and obtain local legal, insurance or housing advice where needed.

Can someone register a deceased estate?

Only an executor, administrator or another person with authority to act should submit it. The property address and probate details must not be placed in the public summary.
