Under the Planning and Building (Jersey) Law 2002, alterations, extensions and demolition of a listed building or place typically need Listed Building Consent, on top of ordinary planning permission.
This 1850's shop was recently extensively renovated, and internally modernized but it retains its timber shop front and windows. It gives much to the streetscape, and maintains the retail history, once alive in the back streets of town.
