Under the Planning and Building (Jersey) Law 2002, alterations, extensions and demolition of a listed building or place typically need Listed Building Consent, on top of ordinary planning permission.
Nos 1 and 1a form a fine pair of intact early C19 merchants houses, retaining features and fabric of interest. Part of an outstanding, unique set of merchants houses and warehouses, Nos 1-31 located on the quayside, at the foot of Fort Regent.
