St. Catherine's Breakwater (Northern Arm of Admiralty Harbour)

Verclut Point, St. Martin · Listed Building Grade 1 · Reference MN0265

Listed status is a real legal constraint

Under the Planning and Building (Jersey) Law 2002, alterations, extensions and demolition of a listed building or place typically need Listed Building Consent, on top of ordinary planning permission.

The unfinished St Catherine's Harbour is part of Jersey's outstanding network of historic fortifications, and the last major initiative in Island defence works during the 19th century. The northern breakwater ranks as one of the Island's greatest architectural and engineering achievements.
