Under the Planning and Building (Jersey) Law 2002, alterations, extensions and demolition of a listed building or place typically need Listed Building Consent, on top of ordinary planning permission.
The area is of interest particularly for the evidence of prehistoric activity, indicated by the dense quantities of Mesolithic flintwork, and for the rare survival of an extensive Medieval open field system.
